Hometown Hero: CPL Ben Thompson

My name is Jami Thompson and my husband is a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. Ben was in the Marine Corp in 1991, but was medically discharged due to a knee injury. After Sept. 11, 2001, he knew that he had to re-enlist. By December, we were out in California at the 29 Palms Marine Air Ground Combat Center. My husband, CPL Thompson, served his country by going to IRAQ for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

He is home with me now, back in 29 Palms - this is where we call home. I am awaiting for the next deployment to begin. But, until then I cherish every moment I have with him and pray to god that he will keep us in his watch.
